Track Champions will be crowned in the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman, IMCA, Purestocks, Street Stocks, Thunder Cars and Mod Lites. The night’s events will be presented by Deline’s Autobody & Collision, Autumn’s Barber Shop and Tanning, Ben Shoen’s Home Improvements, Subway, and Karen & Jasper’s Bistro.
“Minus the amount of rainouts that we have had this season, overall the 2008 season has been a success,” commented Alana Moncrieff. “We have had so much great racing at Can-Am this season, and that was proven again last week with the three and four wide racing that our drivers have been doing. This week they will all shine as we complete our final point’s night for the season and the track champions for 2008 will be crowned. It’s an exciting night for all our drivers and their crews along with our fans.”
Heading into the final points night, Frankie Caprara holds the lead in the Modified division while Billy Decker sits 38 points behind Caprara in second while Scott Webb, Billy Dunn and Pat O’Brien fill out the top five. While Larry Wight sits on top of the 358 Modified points in 2008. He holds the lead over Mark Smoke, Lance Willix, Andy Howard and Billy Eisele. Brandon Sweet holds a slim 16 point margin over Mike Mandgo in the Sportsman division. Tom Conklin, Ally Amell, and Mark Webb will fill out the top five. In the Street Stock division, Todd Raabe sits on top of the points with eleven top five finishes.
