Local Star Tim McCreadie to Return to Big Block Modified Competition at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park in SUNY Canton Shootout Next Week

By Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design - May 16, 2012

It doesn’t seem that long ago that Tim McCreadie was honing his racing skills on the Go Kart track at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park, later he moved to the Small Block Modified ranks, and then on to Big Block Modifieds, and now he is a national star with the World of Outlaw Late Models.  McCreadie will return to his roots next Wednesday, May 23rd to compete in the SUNY Canton Shootout at Can Am.

McCreadie will highlight a star-studded field of Big Block and Small Block Modifieds, competing for $3000 to win in a 45 lap feature event with an open tire rule.  In addition, the first 358 Modified across the finish line will also walk away with an additional $500 bonus.  The Sportsman division will also have an open tire rule and they will be on the card with a 30 lap, $1000 to win feature, and the Late Models will be here racing for 25 laps with $750 up to grabs for the race winner in their open tire race.

“We are really excited about having Tim McCreadie coming back here to race with us next week”, says track General Manager Chip Burdick.  “McCreadie has always been a fan favorite here in this area, and has done very well for himself running in the World of Outlaw Late Model Series.

The feature winner in all three divisions will earn a guaranteed starting spot in their respective divisions for the Outlaw 200 Weekend at Fulton Speedway at the end of September.

The SUNY Canton Shootout presented by Ferris Mowers will get underway at 7:15 pm on Wednesday, May 23rd.  General Admission is just $18.

I hope the ROC racers take advantage of this race as it gives them another different track to run at”, adds Burdick.  “Hopefully this will give some drivers that do only run American Racer tires a chance to come to Can Am and have some fun”.

Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park Adds SUNY Canton Modified Dash for Cash to Exciting Schedule for This Saturday Night

By Craig Revelle - Finish Line Web Design - April 22, 2012

With opening night getting rained out, and the SUNY Canton, Dig Safely NY Modified division not originally on the schedule for this coming Saturday, Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park has announced that a 15 lap dash for cash for the Modifieds has been added to the schedule for this coming Saturday night.

The winner of the dash for cash will receive $500, along with a guaranteed starting spot for the May 23rd $3000 to win Big Block/Small Block SUNY Canton Shootout event. Second place will take home $300, with third and fourth place both receiving $100. All other competitors in the Dash for Cash will receive $50.

"With the rain out on opening night we just thought it would be a good to give the Modified drivers some track time before we open up with points the following week”, says Can Am General Manager Chip Burdick. “I discussed it with Tiger and we thought it would be nice to give some of the racers that come for practice a chance to get some practice in under race conditions and also a chance to win some extra money to help cover some of there expenses for coming to practice”....[read more]
