Budweiser Shootout On Tap at Can-Am
La Fargeville NY…On Saturday, July 5, 2008, Caprara’s Can-Am Motorsports Park will host the Budweiser Shootout. In action will be the Empire Super Sprints racing for $2,000 to win and the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds in competition for a 35 lap feature with the winner taking home $2,000.
“This is the biggest race we have at Can-Am all season,” stated Chip Burdick. “In the past, this race was the biggest event around. Every time we have the ESS at Can-Am it’s a big show, but we are adding the Big Block Modifieds to the card and realistically you won’t see a better show at Can-Am all season long.”
In addition to the Empire Super Sprints and the Big Block Modifieds will be the Lucas Oil Sportsman Series, with the winner taking home $800. There will also be a street stock open event with the winner pocketing $500; thunder cars will also be on tap. In addition to all of this, any 358 Modified drivers who choose to run with the big block modifieds, will be eligible for a small block bonus of $300, $200, and $100.
General Admission to the event is $20 for adults, $5 for children ages 10 to 14 and 9 and under are always free. The pit gates will open at 4pm with general admission gates opening at 5. Racing begins promptly at 7pm. As always, Canadian money is taken at Par. Military can also receive a half price admission in the grandstands with Military ID.
